Reporting to the Sr. Manager of Payroll, the Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of biweekly in-house payroll for 600+ employees across multiple states, ensuring full compliance with SOX guidelines. This role serves as the sole preparer of payroll and stock transactions and collaborates closely with Human Resources and Finance to maintain payroll accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. As a Senior Payroll Analyst, you'll have the opportunity to lead improvements, partner cross-functionally, and help shape a best-in-class payroll experience in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities * Independently process biweekly in-house payroll and stock transactions under strict SOX compliance. * Own and resolve day-to-day payroll-related issues, communicating directly with employees and managers. * Train managers and employees on ADP Workforce Now and timekeeping systems to ensure compliance and user proficiency. * Prepare and deliver periodic payroll and financial reports for management, accounting, and audit purposes. * Liaise with ADP to resolve tax issues and establish payroll accounts in new states. * Support audits including 401(k), Workers' Compensation, and general payroll audits. * Identify and support implementation of automation, analytics, and system upgrades to improve accuracy and efficiency. * Conduct ad hoc analyses and contribute to special projects as needed. * Serve as backup to the Senior Payroll Manager during absences or emergencies. Qualifications & Skills * Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience). Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred but not required. * Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in multi-state, in-house payroll processing for 600+ employees; experience in publicly traded companies preferred. * Proficiency in payroll systems (ADP Workforce Now preferred). * Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis). * Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations; ability to register new state accounts. * Solid understanding of labor laws and payroll best practices. * Experience with general ledger reconciliation and accounting principles. * Skilled in managing benefits-related deductions (e.g., health insurance, 401(k), FSA) on payroll end. * High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. * Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; Demonstrate resourcefulness and creative problem-solving in the face of ambiguity and unexpected challenges. * Customer service oriented, providing clear support to employees on payroll matters. * Ability to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements. * Discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information. * Effective collaboration across HR, Finance, and IT teams. * Excellent time management and ability to meet payroll deadlines. * Commitment to be present every other week for payroll processing. * Experience supporting internal and external audits. * Familiarity with automation tools and system upgrades. * Adaptability to changing regulations, technologies, and organizational needs. Remote: US only roles The anticipated base salary range in the United States is $84,000 - $105,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
