What to Expect
Supervise a group of equipment maintenance technicians that are responsible for equipment availability, and performance. Perform preventative maintenance and repair on a variety of electro-mechanical, robotic, and pneumatic manufacturing equipment. Develop and maintain maintenance and calibration schedules for all tools, machinery and equipment used in the manufacturing facility. Perform supporting activities for engineering and manufacturing including 5S and Lean manufacturing activities, material handling improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures. Manage workload with a positive attitude as a hands-on team player in a collaborative work environment. This person must be able to build upon previous successes and take our Maintenance teams to the next level. They must be capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and department leaders to address concerns and issues that affect part quality, production efficiency, work cell ergonomics, equipment maintenance, etc. The successful candidate will also have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and management skills, demonstrating the ability to be an innovator and change agent.
What You'll Do
- Provide effective supervision, training and coaching to assigned maintenance employees to achieve the required equipment up time, quality equipment repairs, and maintain production goals
- Ensure that standard operating procedures and engineering procedures are current, accurate and that all work done is in compliance to ensure maximum quality
- Create and Drive Continuous improvement projects that benefit the departmental goals and direction
- Provide clear shift to shift communications in order to ensure all team members are working to the same goals. Able to communicate high level goals for both the maintenance department and shop overall
- Work with employees to resolve technical and machine related issues to ensure tool performance
- Tesla people leaders are responsible for a variety of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) assurance functions, including ensuring their teams' safety training
- Oversee equipment upgrades and refurbishment projects, effectively coordinating with vendor support
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Management, Engineering, related disciplines or equivalent experience preferred, equivalent background would involve a minimum of 3 years in manufacturing maintenance and machine operations experience with progressive responsibility
- Prior experience working with high speed manufacturing, bottling/food and beverage, and/or Rotary Equipment - Continuous Motion tools
- 3 years or more of industrial manufacturing supervisory or similar leadership experience
- Strong preventive maintenance development experience, familiarity with reliability centered maintenance principles preferred
- Able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, establish and achieve goals
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Essential Physical Demands:
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 50 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
- Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap, and PAPR and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
