Welder Assembler

Staffmark is hiring a skilled Welder Assembler to join a growing team in Memphis, TN. This hands-on role involves assembling and welding components to build complex units for various industrial applications. Responsibilities

• Position, align, fit, and weld parts into complete units or subassemblies using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Follow blueprints and layout specifications to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Perform tack welding and verify workpiece conformance using measuring tools such as squares, rulers, and tape measures.
• Layout and inspect metal stock or parts to confirm they meet project specifications.
• Use jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, pry bars, and other tools to align and fit parts.
• Mark workpieces for bending or cutting, accounting for material thickness and shrinkage.
• Secure components using clamps, braces, ropes, or bolts for welding or riveting.
• Interpret engineering drawings and determine material and process requirements.
• Move heavy parts manually or with cranes/hoists into position for assembly.
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment including brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of relevant, hands-on welding/assembly experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to read and interpret instructions, blueprints, and work orders
• Basic computer skills are preferred
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to follow instructions
• Physically capable of performing tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods
