Job Summary

Works with raw data to transform and aggregate the data to make it suitable for analysis and modeling. Conducts statistical analysis, data modeling and forecasting. Generates and modifies existing queries to meet reporting needs.

  • Integrates data silos by coordinating between different departments to make data sources accessible across a unified platform.
  • Meets regularly with functional departments and decision makers to ensure Analysis and Information Management (AIM) involvement and synchronization with new initiatives, software, or radical changes in organizational structure or business processes that will affect university data.
  • Collaborates with functional and academic departments to clean up bad data and modify business processes.
  • Creates data marts, metadata, and predictive data models to enable innovative data analysis and meet decision making needs.
  • Conducts detailed analyses and creates reports and SQL code to satisfy internal and external data requests received through our departmental data request system.
  • Uses advanced data analytics to model the impact of proposed initiatives on BOG Metrics and Strategic Plan goals.
  • Performs data mining and create data structures and reports to support point-in-time data delivery.
  • Extract raw data from databases as needed to perform analysis and generate reports.
  • Develops Key Performance Indicators (KPI) tools and alerts that will use live data aligned with the university's initiatives and interventions to help units stay on track towards achieving metric goals, preeminence, and strategic initiatives.
  • Uses data to model different scenarios and evaluate the strengths and setbacks of each.
  • Creates SQL queries, views and reports to validate and error-check the data in our data warehouse and BOG files.
  • Performs other related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Performs data scraping and extraction using various R statistical software packages.
  • Create data analytics procedures to assess data quality, consistency, and to identify data errors and anomalies.
  • Designs and revises Tableau dashboard and ensure optimal standardization and re-use of dashboard components across the organization.
  • Handles technical duties relating to online student evaluations, including query writing, report creation, and technical support.
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience or a Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
