Description Join our Vision Rehabilitation Center, a multi-specialty optometry group practice dedicated to providing exceptional care in Westwood. The Vision Rehab Center, under the Department of Ophthalmology, encompasses low vision rehabilitation, optometric primary care, refractions, contact lenses, research study visits, and the UCLA Executive Health Program. We are looking for a team member who is dependable and committed to creating a positive experience for both patients and providers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Schedule all patient appointments, manage check-in/check-out processes
  • Respond to a high volume of diverse phone inquiries
  • Collect patient payments at the time of service, prepare and submit billing information to the department's business team
  • Assist with pre-authorization processes to support patient access to care
  • Provide occasional support in rooming patients and cleaning exam rooms between visits
  • Maintain the office calendar, including doctors' meetings, travel schedules, staff shifts, and work-study coverage to ensure smooth daily operations.
Salary Range: $26.42-37.49 Hourly
Qualifications
Required:
*Working knowledge of major medical insurance plans.
* Working knowledge of medical terminology.
*Demonstrated ability to triage patient issues to achieve resolution including the ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families and the general public in a high volume, continuous public contact setting.
*Demonstrated interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, physicians and patients over the phone and in person.
*Ability to complete heavy flow of work with minimal supervision and within established time frames.
*Ability to prioritize and organize workload, working independently and multi-tasking with frequent interruptions.
*Ability to respect and preserve the confidentiality of personnel information and other sensitive matters.
*Demonstrated skill in problem solving to quickly assess, define, and resolve complaints and errors.
*Ability to schedule and register patients utilizing the computerized appointment scheduling and registration systems.
