Position: Account Executive - Commercial P&C
Location: Greater Chicago Area (Hybrid - once a week onsite)
Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm
Classification: Exempt, Full-Time, Direct Hire
A global commercial insurance broker is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join its Property & Casualty (P&C) department.
As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for managing approximately 10 large and complex existing accounts. While new business leads are generated by the Sales Team, you will provide technical expertise and support to help develop and close those opportunities. Responsibilities:
Client Management: Manage approximately 10 large and complex commercial accounts across a variety of industries; assess client insurance needs and provide expert guidance.
Sales Support: Partner with the Sales Team on new business leads by providing technical expertise and support; develop cross-selling opportunities within existing accounts.
Policy Analysis: Review existing insurance policies, identify coverage gaps, and recommend appropriate insurance solutions.
Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks to clients' businesses and propose effective risk management strategies.
Customer Service: Deliver exceptional service by collaborating with CSRs, responding promptly to client inquiries, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction.
Renewals & Updates: Manage policy renewals, updates, and modifications for a diverse portfolio of commercial clients.
Proposals: Prepare and present insurance proposals to clients in collaboration with Customer Service Specialists.
Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships to drive retention and satisfaction.
Team Leadership: Guide and mentor junior staff; delegate tasks, training, and onboarding as appropriate.
Coordination: Work with the Customer Service Team and/or Account Representatives on ordering and issuing binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other required documents.
Professional Development: Stay up to date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and new products to provide current, relevant advice to clients.
Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of commercial insurance experience with a focus on Property & Casualty (P&C).
5+ years of commercial Account Management experience.
Active Property & Casualty insurance license required.
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products and services.
Broad industry experience, including work with major national carriers.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Proficiency in MS Office and insurance management systems.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
