What you will do:
Reporting to the Patient Safety Portfolio Manager, the Patient Safety Innovation Coordinator serves as a key leader in advancing a culture of safety and high reliability at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. This role is responsible for expert facilitation of cause analyses (RCA, CCA, ACA, PRA) for high-risk events, ensuring psychological safety, fostering collaboration across all levels of staff, and driving strong systems-based safety action planning. Partnering with clinical leaders and the Johns Hopkins Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP) teams, the Innovation Coordinator designs and implements novel strategies to improve patient outcomes, including medication safety initiatives, and promotion of unit-based ownership of safety. The Innovation Coordinator plans, directs, and evaluates hospital-wide patient safety and quality improvement programs. Leveraging evidence-based practices, frontline clinical insights, and design-thinking approaches, this role leads efforts to strengthen reliability, reduce harm, and advance measurable improvements in patient safety and quality improvement across the institution. Skills Required: Requires skill and experience in methods of improvement, theories of change, and current concepts of teambuilding. requires a high level of organizational skills to initiate and manage projects, timetables and implementations; advanced interpersonal skills to manage, direct and coordinate the activities of multiple departments, to positively communicate and work with professionals at all levels of the organization; analytical ability to develop and interpret application of best practices, outcome metrics and the like; and excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to influence and negotiate individual and group decision-making. Strong leadership and management and group facilitation skills. Proficiency in excel, power point and other desktop applications is required. Salary Range: Minimum 41.70/hour - Maximum 68.85/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
