Job Summary

Provides essential administrative and operational support for the Nursing Undergraduate department (traditional and non-traditional tracks), ensuring its day-to-day functions run efficiently. As a key point of contact, the Program Coordinator handles a wide range of responsibilities, from direct student support to financial oversight and logistical coordination.

  • Coordinates and assists with the operational and financial activities associated with the department. Serves as the frontline point of contact to the Acccelerated- Option nursing students in the Nursing Undergraduate department at BBC for informational advisement on all non-instructional matters.
  • Provides administrative support to faculty members for academic and program matters.
  • Coordinates and executes the development, scheduling and implementation of new and ongoing academic/student programs or services in the Nursing Undergraduate department. Provides recommendations regarding operational procedure changes in support of the strategic goals and initiatives.
  • Oversees and facilitates specific activities for the department, which include and are not limited to, approval and management of all Commodity Card transactions for the department, coordinates all travel arrangements and preparation of Travel Authorization requests and travel reimbursements for the Chair, faculty and staff, and prepares requisitions and invoices for operational purposes of the Nursing Undergraduate department.
  • Assists with establishing and maintaining academic standards and degree requirements, accreditation matters, as appropriate. Manages the student files and records in accordance with Program and accreditation requirements.
  • Inputs course scheduling. Administers faculty evaluations each semester.
  • Initiates and prepares requests for hiring adjunct faculty members.
  • Coordinates logistical matters related to the Nursing Undergraduate department projects including planning, initiation, coordination, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitors status of projects. Assists in analysis of program data, develops reports and tracking systems in Excel spreadsheets, and oversees activities.
  • Monitors accounts/expenditures and reconciles statements. Advises management and staff on budgetary needs or discrepancies. Prepares all documentation to manage business accounts as required.
  • Provides input and makes recommendations in the preparation of strategic plans in support of the Nursing Undergraduate department.
  • Collaborates with the University, University Graduate School, and Nicole Wertheim College of Nursing and Health Sciences to facilitate student registration and enrollment.
  • Collects & maintains data for quality improvement initiatives and program evaluation.
  • Trains, directs, supervises and evaluates the work of Federal Work Study students or other temporary staff and is highly accountable to the work of the program.
  • Serves as an University card user for departmental transactions. Adheres to University credit card policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties that are required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of office or related experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in a higher education setting, specifically in a student-facing or academic support role.
  • Experience with managing budgets and financial transactions within a university environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in program coordination, project management, or event planning.
  • Proficiency with advanced features in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
