Description UNC Hospitals | New to OR Program Hiring Event November 6, 2025 | 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. Are you a new graduate or experienced RN looking to transition into the Operating Room? New to OR Program is a 6-month structured curriculum utilizing AORN's PeriOp 101 to provide comprehensive training and hands-on experience in perioperative nursing. What to Expect: * Didactic classroom instruction at UNC Medical Center in Chapel Hill * Simulation labs to develop hands-on skills * Clinical preceptorship at your home facility * Extensive training in the first 10 weeks, followed by rotations through multiple specialty services * Experience in circulating and/or scrub roles (varies by location) * Specialty team assignments based on preference and team evaluation Throughout the program, participants will engage in modules, evaluations, homework, and a final exam to ensure clinical excellence. You'll work alongside a team of passionate OR professionals handling complex surgical cases and utilizing leading patient care models. New Graduate RN Qualifications: * Graduation from school of professional nursing. * Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina by the day of clinical care. * Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. Experienced RN Qualifications: * Graduation from a school of professional nursing. * If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date. * Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. * Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification. * One (1) year of nursing experience. |
