Please Note: This position will work at the front of our Stores greeting customers as they enter and thanking them as they exit and checking receipts. Excellent customer service skills are a must! Part-time positions are available. Please tell us about your availability. Availability to work evenings and weekends is preferred.

Our Retail Centers are open 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sundays.

Pay: $15.65 per hour. This position is eligible for Daily Pay! Work today, get paid today! We've partnered with DailyPay, a voluntary benefit to offer employees access to their pay on their own schedule. Part-Time employees in our Retail and Sales/Operations Division are eligible for paid holidays, sick leave, jury duty, and bereavement leave. All employees may also make pre-tax or post-tax (Roth) contributions to our retirement plan - must be 18 years of age to participate. Goodwill of Colorado is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program (PSLF) eligible employer.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Associate I, Retail Customer Host will provide a welcoming first impression, greeting customers as they enter the store and thanking customers as they exit the store. The Associate will be in contact with customers and is expected to be responsive in communication and provide excellent customer service. As the first interaction a customer has with the store, it is important the Associate ensures a positive shopping experience.

Part of the Associate's role is receipt checking, a loss prevention measure to verify customer receipts against purchases to prevent theft and fraud, while also ensuring accuracy in transactions and providing a point of customer service. They are responsible for identifying discrepancies and communicating with customers and management to resolve problems and maintain a safe, welcoming shopping environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Greeting Customers:



  • Welcome the customers with a warm smile and a genuine greeting.
  • Provide store information, answer questions, offer shopping carts or hand basket, direct customers to specific areas, manage customer flow during busy times, and maintain a friendly and organized entrance.
  • Share relevant store information with the customer, such where items are located, discounts, etc.
  • Share any upcoming event information with the customer.


Customer Exits:



  • Thank the customer sincerely for shopping with us and supporting our mission.
  • Customers' receipts should be checked to verify purchases upon leaving the store. Merchandise that cannot be validated by the receipt should be referred to point of sale (POS) for additional customer service.
  • If the customer does not have a receipt or has an invalid receipt, politely ask the customer to return to the store to be processed through the POS.
  • File appropriate reports with Risk department.


Other:



  • Technology Proficiency: Use of handheld scanners, devices etc. to monitor transactions and or report incidents via Think Risk.
  • Good observation: Keen sense of observation to monitor people and identify suspicious behavior while maintaining calm demeanor.
  • Follow all retail center policies and procedures.
  • Follow all safety processes and procedures to help provide a safe working environment for employees and customers.
  • Job duties may extend beyond the tasks listed and may include additional responsibilities as required.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:



  • A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.


Experience:



  • Prior Retail Store door attendant experience is a plus.

  • Ability to use basic technologies to be able to follow company standards.
  • Must have the ability to use and operate computer programs (Microsoft, Think Risk, etc.) and other technology (phone, scanner, etc.).
  • The incumbent must have strong communication skills and the ability to take initiative in a situation.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, write, and communicate effectively in English; bilingual is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to effectively convey information and interact with diverse individuals.
  • Good customer service skills and a positive attitude are essential for creating a positive customer experience and ensuring safety and satisfaction.
  • Provide a friendly demeanor and have a positive and approachable attitude.
  • The capacity to handle customer inquiries and concerns calmly and professionally.

  • Must be able to work a varied schedule which may include weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed with occasional overtime.
