Senior CAD Engineer

• Design and develop closure components and assemblies (hoods, doors, liftgates, fenders, trims, reinforcements, etc.) from concept through production.
• Ensure designs meet safety standards, cost, weight, manufacturability, and serviceability requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (CAE, Manufacturing, Stamping, Suppliers) to optimize design quality and efficiency.
• Apply GD&T principles, create detailed drawings, packaging layouts, and perform benchmarking for continuous improvement.
• Support analysis and validation efforts by interpreting simulation results and guiding design adjustments.

• 8+ years of experience in automotive product development, specifically within closures systems.
• Proficient in CATIA V5/V6 (or equivalent) for 3D modeling, packaging, and design analysis.
• Strong understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes and Class A surface data.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related Engineering field (ABET-accredited or equivalent).
• Detail-oriented problem solver with strong prioritization skills and a hands-on engineering approach.
• Experience using FEA tools within CATIA environment preferred.
