Junior Process Engineer -Plating

Job Description

This position requires an individual who can work in a fast-paced production environment as a plating engineer being responsible for day-to-day sustaining of plating lines and their quality output. The engineer will work with closely with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve production yield issues as related to plating. The engineer will also be responsible for creating and qualifying new plating recipes and optimizing the existing ones, qualifying and implementing and process equipment improvements, and implementing best known manufacturing tools and practices for the plating module. Optimizing performance to achieve best-in-class yields for the technology being built is a critical objective.

Nature of Duties



  • Provide hands-on engineering support for process issues and product disposition.
  • Create new or optimize existing plating recipes for new products and yield improvement
  • Perform DOE and statistical data analysis to investigate major sources of process variation and develop solutions to eliminate or reduce their impact.
  • Identify critical-to-yield process parameters and specifications through process window characterization.
  • Utilize structured problem solving techniques and develop a culture of strong engineering discipline through the use of advanced quality tools such as FMEAs, DOEs, DMAIC, and SPC.
  • Work closely with equipment and material suppliers to identify opportunities for process capability and yield improvement through equipment upgrades, new equipment or materials, or new processing technology.
  • Work to the established priorities and work schedules. Support, augment and work seamlessly with the Process Engineering team and cross functional peers.


Education and Experience:



  • 0-2years previous experience in printed circuit board fabrication, although not necessary, is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree inMaterial Scienceor Chemical Engineering
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean processes is a plus
  • Skilled in the use of statistical data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, or Minitab
  • Ability to multitask as the job often requires supporting multiple tasks at the same time
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic work environment
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Successful candidatemust be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.

Salary Range(annual): $65,000.00-$85,000.00

Actual base pay within this range (determined attheoffer stage) will be based on a candidate's years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, and skills, and is just one element of our total rewards package.Thetotal rewards package also includes a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business and, depending ontherole, may include eligibility for restricted stock unit awards and participation in a discretionary bonus program.
