MGH Institute of Health Professions invites applications for a 12-month, full-time Assistant/Associate Professor to join our Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) Program in the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Enrollment in the program has grown to 67 students, including 34 new students admitted this fall, creating a student-to-faculty ratio of 18:1 and rising. Currently, the Program Director is the only core faculty member supporting and advising students across the entire program. This new faculty position offers an excellent opportunity to teach in a growing, fully online graduate program and contribute to program development, student success, and accreditation efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include teaching in the online Master of Healthcare Administration program,
  • Academic advising,
  • Curriculum development,
  • Scholarship,
  • Service to the program, the Institute, and the community Faculty
  • Provide contributions to accreditation processes and program quality improvement initiatives.

Education
  • Candidates must possess an earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, DHA, DrPH, or equivalent) in healthcare administration, health services research, public health, or a related discipline.
Experience
  • Graduate-level teaching experience in healthcare administration, preferably in online education.
  • Evidence of scholarship or professional practice in healthcare leadership, administration, or policy.
  • Experience with accreditation processes (NECHE, CAHME, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Commitment to student advising and support, and ability to advance Mission, Values, and Community Excellence (MVCE) competencies.
  • Rank and salary commensurate with experience.
  • The ideal faculty member demonstrates expertise in healthcare administration practice and education, with the expectation of a line of scholarship inquiry and mentorship of graduate students.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of online learning platforms and instructional technologies.
  • Familiarity with instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Technical proficiency in learning management systems, virtual classroom platforms, and multimedia tools.
  • Experience mentoring graduate students in academic and professional development.
