About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword - it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

About the Role

Salesforce's Machine Learning Platform and Services is foundational to enabling AI development at scale.

The Sr. Director of Product, AI/ML Platform will:

  • Lead the vision and roadmap for our next-generation ML Platform.

  • Drive scale, reliability, and interoperability across the stack.

  • Accelerate developer productivity through self-service, paved paths, and AI-assisted tooling.

  • Partner closely with engineering, security, and business units to operationalize data mesh architecture, experimentation, and governance.

This role is mission-critical to Salesforce's AI strategy, ensuring that every AI team-from Marketing to Core DET-can innovate faster, safer, and at scale.

Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
  • Define and own the ML Platform vision and long-range roadmap, ensuring it stays 1-2 quarters ahead of data science needs.

  • Translate organizational goals into platform priorities across infrastructure, feature engineering, experimentation, agent evaluation, observability, and governance.

  • Drive alignment with internal stakeholders (DET, Agentforce, Marketing, Product, Security) to scale adoption of platform-managed services.

  • Ensure platform investments directly address current challenges (e.g., fragmented infra, siloed teams, lack of enablement).

Developer Experience & Enablement
  • Reimagine the developer journey for speed, reliability, and simplicity, building paved paths for data integration, model training, and agent deployment.

  • Integrate AI-assisted engineering practices (Cursor, MCP) into workflows to boost developer productivity.

  • Build self-service capabilities (environment provisioning, feature engineering, experimentation) while enforcing compliance and governance.

  • Reduce barriers to entry for data science teams (e.g., standardize environments, support local dev setups, simplify onboarding).

  • Foster a collaborative mindset, encouraging cross-team contributions to platform tooling.

Operational Excellence
  • Ensure high availability and scalability, maintaining rigorous SLAs (99% uptime) across platform services.

  • Drive automation, observability, and standardization to improve uptime, performance, and cost efficiency.

  • Implement platform reliability engineering practices, proactive incident management, and cost observability.

  • Partner with security and infra teams to deliver robust IAM, vulnerability scanning, threat modeling, and compliance (GDPR, SOX, CCPA).

People Leadership
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing product team, scaling to meet the platform's ambitious roadmap.

  • Create an operating model for engagement with data science teams, ensuring inputs, prioritization, and shared accountability.

  • Champion a culture of enablement, transparency, and collaboration across Product, Engineering, and Data Science.

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of product leadership experience in platform or infrastructure products, with a focus on ML/AI.

  • Proven track record of delivering scalable platform solutions in complex, matrixed environments.

  • Deep understanding of AI/ML workflows (feature stores, experimentation, CI/CD, observability, governance).

  • Strong communication and executive influencing skills.

  • Familiarity with enterprise-grade security, compliance, and governance frameworks.

  • Experience driving adoption of open-source technologies and managing vendor/tooling strategies.

  • Ability to scale under resource constraints, balancing short-term delivery with long-term vision.

Why It Matters

By joining as Sr. Director of Product, you will:

  • Accelerate AI innovation across Salesforce through unified, secure, and reliable platform capabilities.

  • Deliver self-service enablement that empowers data science teams to build and experiment without bottlenecks.

  • Shape Salesforce's next-gen ML Platform, spanning infrastructure, feature engineering, experimentation, observability, and governance.

  • Ensure high availability, compliance, and operational excellence while reducing cost and complexity.

  • Be the bridge between strategy and execution, ensuring the platform stays ahead of the company's AI needs.

You'll be at the center of the world's most trusted AI platform building the foundation for how Salesforce develops, governs, and scales its next-generation AI ecosystem.
