Fox News Channel is looking for a talented Freelance Production Assistant to join the top-rated and recently expanded primetime program, The Big Weekend Show. As a Freelance Production Assistant, you thrive in a high-volume, collaborative, fast-paced environment and can complete tasks with minimal errors. If you have a passion for politics, current events and pop culture and are looking for a role to kick start your career, this is a great opportunity to learn the ropes and grow within the company.

This role is located fully onsite, and the schedule is Wednesday - Sunday.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As the Freelance Production Assistant, you thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment and can complete tasks with minimal errors

  • Create and edit compelling videos and graphics

  • Assist producers with elements for the leads, teases, and segments, including selecting, pulling and cutting VO/SOTs

  • Coordinate reporter hits

  • Help manage and oversee graphic elements during the show in the control room during the live broadcast

  • Pitch stories for news of the day and future segments

  • Book guests during breaking news situations

  • Learn to compile research packets and produce segments

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • A Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study is preferred, or equivalent experience

  • Experience using Dalet

  • Familiarity with iNews, VIZ, and an understanding of building program rundowns

  • Broadcast news experience

  • Passion for political news, current events, and pop culture

  • Strong administrative and organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask under pressure and meet tight deadlines

  • Solid news and editorial judgment, especially during breaking news

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $17.79-22.00 per hour.
