Job Title: Post-Doctoral Fellow

Job Summary:

This full-time position reports directly to Dr. Christine Vohwinkel in

the Section of Pediatric Critical Care and is responsible for

projects investigating how metabolites regulate inflammation in

acute lung injury/ARDS. Duties will include research and teaching

associated with the laboratory research

The post-doctoral fellow will plan, perform, analyze and oversee

bench research. Teaching activity will generally involve laboratory

staff, students, or faculty collaborators. The fellow is expected to

take a leadership role in planning scientific activities; keep

abreast of and share with the laboratory pertinent scientific

literature; participate in lab meetings and Cardiovascular and

Pulmonary Research Laboratory (CVP) conferences; and write

both grants and scientific publications. The fellow will be afforded

both time and resources to promote collaborative studies and

develop new techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

* PhD, MD or DVM with interest in acute lung injury research.

Condition of Employment:

* Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado

* Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience with mouse models of human disease

* Proven experience and familiarity with inflammation

* Proven experience and familiarity with histone biology

* Proven experience and familiarity with metabolism

* Experience in analyzing "omics" data sets, for example,

metabolomics or RNAseq

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

* Ability to maintain excellent records

* Organizational skills

* Ability to work well within a team

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$62,000 - $65,000

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
