  • Completion of a BA/BS in a related field or comparable experience in lieu of degree
  • At least 5 years of directly related experience

    • An advanced degree (MS or MBA) may substitute for 1-2 years of related work experience

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

You may have also acquired the following skills:



  • Knowledge of an experience implementing INPO based Industrial Safety and Human Performance Programs
  • Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 and 1926 regulations.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management
  • Ability to change priorities quickly, confront issues directly, and works well as part of a team
  • Ability to identify gaps in behaviors and processes and intervene effectively to ensure safety personnel

  • Strong observational and analytical skills.


  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including climbing ladders, working at heights, and wearing required PPE.


  • Willingness to travel and support remote job sites and nuclear facilities.


  • Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to nuclear power plants (fitness-for-duty and background screening required).


  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification (General Industry or Construction).


  • Radiation Worker Training or experience in radiologically controlled environments.


  • Certifications such as CHST, STS, or equivalent safety credentials.


  • Experience supporting nuclear outages, decommissioning, or radioactive waste operations.

This full-time role is about making an impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As an Industrial Safety Professional in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Quality Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. Your work will include:


  • Support site-specific implementation of industrial safety programs in compliance with OSHA, NRC, DOE, and client safety requirements.
  • Conduct field inspections, audits, and observations to proactively identify and mitigate safety risks.
  • Assist in the preparation of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safety plans, and work permits in collaboration with field crews and supervisors.
  • Monitor compliance with PPE, fall protection, confined space, lockout/tagout (LOTO), scaffolding, hot work, and other safety protocols.
  • Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action development.
  • Facilitate safety briefings, toolbox talks, and safety training to reinforce expectations and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, safety metrics, and corrective actions in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide on-site safety support during high-risk activities, outages, or project phases.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness drills and response as required.
  • Act as a role model for safety behavior, reinforcing a culture of continuous safety awareness and accountability.

Your Total Rewards Package

The range of base salary for the position is between $75,000 - $97,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
