ABOUT THE JOB
MU Health Care is seeking an Executive Director, Supply Chain to lead the full spectrum of supply chain, contracting, and distribution functions across our health system. This key executive role will drive innovation and efficiency through strategic leadership, operational excellence, and a strong focus on delivering value to patients and providers alike. The ideal candidate will bring a proven ability to view supply chain through a forward-thinking, strategic lens, advancing systems that reduce costs, optimize performance, and ensure continuity of supply in a complex healthcare environment.

This leader will develop and execute long-term strategies that enhance sourcing, contracting, and distribution practices across MU Health Care, while fostering a culture of high performance and collaboration. With experience in academic or tertiary healthcare, the Executive Director will serve as a trusted partner to executives, clinicians, and operational leaders-aligning supply chain strategy with MU Health Care's mission to improve the health of Missourians through exceptional care, discovery, and education.

Salary Range: $192,836.80 - $299,644.80

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Develop, implement and continuously monitor a supply chain strategic plan with long-term vision, goals, and objectives; with a focus to reduce/control costs, provide exceptional sourcing services, improve quality of procured products and identify/implement sourcing opportunities.

Lead the design and implementation of supply chain inventory management and replenishment models to optimize labor and inventories and reduce cost.

Lead the contracting process, with an emphasis on cost, diversity of suppliers, reliability of vendors and agility to meet the needs of MU Health.

Lead the development and adoption of a supply formulary and provide leadership for addressing back-orders, stock-outs, substitutes, trials, conversions, and recalls.

Develop system/tools of ongoing measurement and reporting to allow internal customers to manage product utilization and expense with emphasis on the effectiveness, cost, cost variation, optimization and potential savings for purchased supplies or contracts.

Develop and deploy forecasting methodology for supply requirements, trends, and variances, aligning resources to ensure continuity of supply and ensure minimal impact to supply and cost variance.

Lead the development of education and communications plans for all user-departments and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with supply chain policies and procedures and to improve customer satisfaction

Lead supply chain, contracting and distribution staff, with an emphasis on high performance, employee engagement and customer satisfaction.

Assemble and lead an advisory team that guide the optimization of supply chain across MU Health.

Act as the lead ambassador for supply chain and contracting within MU Health, the University of Missouri and MU Health Care's partners and the people of Missouri.

Ability to work with executive, physicians, clinicians and other staff in a team oriented approach to achieve maximum results.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master degree in business, management, health services management, or a related health profession field is required.

Minimum of ten (10) years leadership in supply chain and/or contracting is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in healthcare supply chain/contracting is preferred.
