This Senior Manager, Digital Product Management role is a key leadership position focused on Customer Data, Membership, and CRM. The Senior Manager is responsible for guiding the overall product strategy and lifecycle for these critical domains, driving integration of Petco's customer and loyalty data across digital and in-store experiences. Candidates should bring strong technical and data skills, solid business acumen, and the ability to lead cross-company loyalty initiatives in close partnership with leaders from across the organization.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Vision

• Develop a unified customer data and membership product strategy, in collaboration with senior leadership, that drives retention, personalization, and lifetime value across Petco's ecosystem.
• Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer interviews to identify new product opportunities, validate concepts, and determine market fit.
• Develop, own, and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring it is prioritized based on strategic value, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
• Translate high-level strategic concepts into tactical, executable plans and clearly defined product requirements.
• Ensure that projects are prioritized appropriately for business and customer impact.

Product Lifecycle & Technical Execution

• Oversee the entire product development lifecycle from ideation through launch and post-launch iteration.
• Serve as the technical bridge between Product Management, Engineering, and Architecture teams, ensuring product requirements are translated into efficient and scalable technical designs.
• Collaborate with engineering, architecture, and UX teams to develop clear, actionable product requirements with minimal churn.
• Ensure products meet quality, security, and performance standards, actively managing technical risks, dependency tracking, and resolving escalated issues from the development process.
• Champion Agile methodologies and enforce best practices (e.g., CI/CD, DevOps principles) within the product development process.
• Define and track key product performance and technical stability metrics (KPIs), using data-driven insights to inform iteration and future development decisions.

Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Act as the primary liaison between product, engineering, design, marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure complete alignment on goals and execution.
• Secure buy-in from senior stakeholders for product investments and strategic direction, providing executive-level updates and presentations on both business and technical progress.

Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in Product Management or Product Development, with 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Experience with customer loyalty programs.
• Proficiency with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Productboard) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics).
• Strong experience with agile product development methodologies (Scrum, SAFE, etc.).
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills across all levels of an organization.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude with a proficiency in using data and telemetry to drive decisions.
