Job Description - Supervisor, IT Energy Systems Application

Position Description
To organize and direct the work necessary to enhance, support, and maintain the Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), Energy Management System (EMS) and associated systems, including design, planning, budgeting, procurement, implementation, training, operations, and on-going maintenance of hardware and software to insure system integrity.

Position-Related Responsibilities

  • The ITES Application Supervisor plans, schedules and directs ITES/ADMS/EMS personnel in maintaining and modifying the suite of applications and systems comprising the energy management system. Provides technical direction and assistance to the team troubleshooting and repairing the IT Energy Systems applications
  • Coordinates with clients to ensure a thorough understanding of services and products required. Adept at understanding the needs of clients from a business perspective.
  • Oversees, supervises, and coordinates the work of staff members assigned to the group to ensure the delivery of results that meet client needs, and provide for the efficient long term operation of IS.
    Works with other IS groups to ensure the understanding and coordination of effective results.
  • Develops and manages budgets which support the cost-effective implementation of strategies, tactics and operating plans within the immediate area of responsibility.
  • Provides or ensures effective project leadership for assignments and initiatives the immediate group is involved in.
  • Ensures that IS Standards and practices are understood and consistently applied.
  • Maintains an effective level of expertise and understanding needed to direct and coordinate those areas of responsibility to ensure success.
  • Is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the ADMS/EMS and other related technologies supported by the immediate group.
  • This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.

Management Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the Company's management principles, policies and programs are consistently practiced and continually support the Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Comply with and administer the terms and conditions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Assume fiduciary responsibility for operating the business and provide recommendations on cost improvement measures.
  • Ensure that the Performance Management program is administered uniformly and effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field preferred.
  • Minimum six years power systems engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in technical function supervision, real-time computing, power system operation, and power applications software.
  • Strong leadership and inter personal skills required to lead IS staff members and maintain effective relations with clients.
  • A broad general knowledge of information systems technology subjects, extensive knowledge of hardware and software, and the ability to keep abreast of new technologies.
  • Strong business knowledge and experience within the area of responsibility.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, direct reports, and management.

Pay Rate: Salary determined based on candidates experience and qualifications.
