Why M Physicians?

The Sexual and Gender Health Clinic develops andprovides evidence-based clinical care. Our clinic promotes the sexual and gender health of individuals, relationships, and families of all backgrounds by providing assessment and treatment. We provide services across the lifespan, with specific services for children, adolescents, and adults including a focus on specialty areas such as gender health services, relationship & sex therapy and compulsive sexual behavior. Our team of providers is made up of psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists, as well as family medicine and psychiatry practitioners.

What you will do as a Psychotherapist:

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments using DSM 5 in accordance with department standards and in consultation with an independently licensed supervisor
  • Develop patient-centered individualized treatment plans based on age, developmental considerations, social and cultural considerations, clinical diagnosis, level of functioning, and other relevant needs
  • Conducting therapy and treatment throughout the course of care, including individual, group, family, or relationship therapy, psychoeducation groups, transition and discharge planning, utilizing evidence-based practice, standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery
  • Provides applicable care/service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level of population served
  • Uses developmentally appropriate communication to build rapport/therapeutic relationship
  • Ensures a safe, secure environment
  • Partner with a multi-disciplinary team in the treatment planning process
  • Communicate frequently and effectively with the care team and other key people to ensure continuity and coordination of care
  • Partners with client/care-giver/management in care decision making
  • Individualizes care/service plan to meet client needs
  • Modifies interventions/service based on population served
  • Attends and participated in learning opportunities about evidence-based practice
  • Attends clinical supervision and case consultation, research study, literature review, policy development or presentation, continuing education, membership in hospital or unit-based practice council/research council
  • Complete Medical Record documentation consistent with policies and procedures

What you will need:

  • Licensed Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) or the licensure to practice independently
  • MN state license and eligibility to become a credentialed provider with insurance entities
  • Master's Degree in Social Work or Marriage/Couple Family Therapy, Clinical Counseling or equivalence
  • 2+ years' experience post graduation
  • Experience in providing diagnostic assessments and direct evidence-based clinical services
  • Experience with community outreach, patient advocacy, resource management and referrals

Location: West Bank Office Building (WBOB) - 1300 2nd St S Suite 180 Minneapolis, MN 55454

Hours: 40 hours/week

Compensation:

78,812.00 - 114,276.00 USD Annual
