Shipping & Receiving Clerk - 1st Shift
Location: Cudahy, WI
Pay Rate: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour (Based on Experience)
Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping & Receiving Clerk to join our 1st shift operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for handling all incoming and outgoing shipments, preparing materials for domestic and international delivery, and ensuring materials are accurately received, labeled, and routed. This is a hands-on role supporting logistics, assembly, and warehouse operations.
This position requires strong organizational skills, basic mechanical aptitude, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. The ideal candidate is proactive, communicates well, and can work in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
? Shipping & Receiving Operations
  • Prepare, package, label, and ship domestic and international orders
  • Assemble and check outgoing shipments; crate, pack, and attach shipping documentation
  • Receive and inspect all incoming materials, supplies, equipment, and returned goods
  • Verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and receiving documents (quantity, type, size, part number, dimensions)
  • Organize and deliver materials to appropriate storage or production areas
  • Maintain accurate shipping/receiving records and generate reports as needed
? Material Handling & Equipment
  • Load and unload delivery trucks
  • Operate forklift and overhead crane using safe rigging methods (training provided if needed)
  • Ensure all forklifts are stored indoors at the end of each shift
  • Pull and stage kits for assembly teams; assist in tracking and completing kits
  • Receive raw steel and processed kits; monitor stock levels and organize materials
? Support & Communication
  • Serve as a backup to the Logistics Coordinator as needed
  • Perform in-process inspection and testing of parts as required
  • Identify and report defective or non-conforming materials to the Supervisor
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area both indoors and outdoors
  • Complete special projects or assist other departments as assigned
  • Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
Qualifications:
Required:
  • 1-2 years of experience in shipping & receiving (preferred but not required)
  • Basic knowledge of shipping procedures and inventory control
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, and blueprints
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization
  • Basic computer literacy for data entry and reporting
  • Team-oriented with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
Preferred:
  • Experience operating forklifts and/or overhead cranes (or willingness to learn)
  • Previous exposure to manufacturing, warehousing, or logistics environments
  • Familiarity with kits and assembly operations is a plus
