Overview
Goldbelt Seahawk designs, develops, and implements comprehensive solutions for problem spaces, including computer security, scalable architectures, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and network/data center operations. Specializing in local and enterprise-level incident response and forensic analysis, Seahawk's personnel deliver threat analysis and reporting while implementing solutions based on mature planning and development practices. Summary: Goldbelt Seahawk is seeking a Part Time Technical Writer for 20 hours per week working in-person in Juneau AK. **Preference will be given to Alaska Native and/or American Indian applicants.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- High-level technical writing in coordination with development projects which encompass: Solution Architecture, Bid & Proposal (B&P) activities, Business Development (BD) marketing materials, and other technical documentation associated with the performance of Government contracts.
- Responsible for authoring, editing, and reviewing of various documentation which requires a proven understanding of, and compliance with, Government contracting processes in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
- Creating charts and drafting basic graphics/depictions (in MS PowerPoint and other software) in coordination with Solution Architects which will then go to graphics artists for final production/rendering.
- Capture of meeting notes/minutes and documenting action items for collaboration with other team members/stakeholders.
- Developing schedules and associated task codependences for project planning/execution.
- Manages daily tasking and priorities, participates in scheduled team meetings, and assesses requirements for development needs.
- Reports activity weekly and monthly.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Outstanding language, grammar, editing, proofreading, and formatting skills.
- Strong Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
- Proven Experience and Editing with Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical experts, military personnel, and Government civilian staff.
- Familiarity with software development life cycles including hybrid development workflows.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in technical writing, or related English language discipline and five (5) years of technical writing/editing experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in developing technical publications.
- Familiarity with User Experience (UX).
- Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification in MS Word.
- Experience and working knowledge of Government contracting, reporting, and related policy and processes.
