Summary

As a Staff Data Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining the core data platform that powers insights across Vivint. You'll partner with business teams and analytics professionals to ensure that data at Vivint is accurate, reliable, timely, and accessible to thousands of users across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data models and ETL/ELT pipelines supporting enterprise analytics and reporting.
  • Develop and optimize the data platform (Snowflake) to support thousands of users and diverse business use cases.
  • Implement best practices for data architecture, governance, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust data solutions.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance data workflows for reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure high standards for data quality, security, and operational excellence.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in data modeling and ETL development.
  • Deep expertise in SQL, database design, and data modeling methodologies (Kimball, Inmon, or Data Vault).
  • 5+ years hands on experience with cloud data warehousing technologies (preferably Snowflake).
  • Proficiency in Python
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams to develop robust solutions for complex problems.
  • Passion for generating business value with great technology.
