Job Summary:
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a dedicated and motivated Pediatric Pulmonologist to join our expanding pediatric specialty team at Chicago and Peoria locations. This position is 51%, based in our Chicago and 49% in Peoria Illinois.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Diagnosis and Assessment
    Evaluate and diagnose a wide range of respiratory conditions in infants and children. This includes using diagnostic tools like pulmonary function tests and bronchoscopy.
  • Treatment and Management
    Develop and implement treatment plans for chronic and acute respiratory diseases. This involves managing conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, sleep apnea, and other congenital or acquired lung diseases.
  • Procedures
    Perform various invasive and non-invasive procedures to diagnose and treat lung conditions.
  • Patient and Family Care
    Provide education, long-term care coordination, and support to children and their families regarding their respiratory health.
  • Collaboration
    Work closely with other pediatric subspecialists, respiratory therapists, and nursing staff to provide holistic care.
  • Research and Awareness
    Fostering public awareness of pulmonary diseases and advancing the understanding of respiratory health.

    Minimum Qualifications
    MD or equivalent
    Unrestricted IL medical license/eligible for IL medical license
    Board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to work in academic medical center.
  • Ability for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
