Job Summary: The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a dedicated and motivated Pediatric Pulmonologist to join our expanding pediatric specialty team at Chicago and Peoria locations. This position is 51%, based in our Chicago and 49% in Peoria Illinois. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Evaluate and diagnose a wide range of respiratory conditions in infants and children. This includes using diagnostic tools like pulmonary function tests and bronchoscopy. Develop and implement treatment plans for chronic and acute respiratory diseases. This involves managing conditions such as asthma, cystic fibrosis, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, sleep apnea, and other congenital or acquired lung diseases. Perform various invasive and non-invasive procedures to diagnose and treat lung conditions. Provide education, long-term care coordination, and support to children and their families regarding their respiratory health. Work closely with other pediatric subspecialists, respiratory therapists, and nursing staff to provide holistic care. Fostering public awareness of pulmonary diseases and advancing the understanding of respiratory health.
