Systems Engineer

This position is contingent upon customer approval.

Purpose:


  • Immediate need for a Systems Engineer who will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) V Department on government site in Dahlgren, VA.


Job Description:


  • Develop new site/lab activation requirements, defining scope, developing plans/presentations, providing status updates and plan changes, generating installation drawings and documentation, participating in and developing content for design reviews, and tracking software changes through system lifecycle
  • Work with the Program Acquisition Resource Managers (PARMs) and Element Leads to plan, collect and review technical data, and coordinate delivery of equipment and track through installation
  • Deliver final versions of technical data artifacts to Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) and Combat System Engineering Development Site (CSEDS) and all media files (AutoCAD, MS Word, MS Excel, etc.))
  • Assist in development of presentations to upper leadership that conveys risk
  • Develop and maintain Integrated Master Plan to support SCSC, CSEDS, and ATRC installation design package development and activation progress
  • Develop and review detailed installation design packages, including new, as-built, and final as-built documentation, while providing technical guidance and assistance throughout the design and installation process.


Qualifications:


  • Must have a four-year Engineering Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science from an accredited University is preferred but not required, experience may be substituted.
  • Must have experience supporting installation design package development.
  • Must have experience developing as-built detailed installation packages, and reviewing new and final as-built design packages.


Desired Qualifications:


  • 4 years of U.S. Navy experience, preferred.
  • Experience leading site and laboratory activation planning, including requirements scoping, scheduling, documentation, and progress reporting from concept through initial operational capability, preferred.
  • Skilled in generating and interpreting installation design drawings, engineering documentation, and technical change tracking, preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver executive-level presentations that clearly convey technical risk, schedule impacts, and project status to leadership, preferred.
  • Expertise in developing and maintaining Integrated Master Plans (IMPs) to support installation design package development, activation progress, and milestone tracking, preferred.
  • Strong technical guidance and mentorship skills with a track record of assisting cross-functional teams in achieving project objectives, preferred.


Security Requirements:


  • Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance.


Travel Requirements:


  • Occasional Travel- less than 20%.
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.   • Remaining in a stationary

  • Communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), subject to noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions (affect the respiratory system), frequently work in close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways (areas that could cause claustrophobia)

Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000 per year
