The SOM Dean's Office Business Affairs office is responsible for the business and financial operations for the School of Medicine Dean's Office. This includes School of Medicine initiatives, funds flow planning, standards development and overall financial operations in close partnership with the School of Medicine Departments and UC San Diego Health. Incumbent serves as the Business & Project Analyst within the Dean's Office- School of Medicine (SOM) Business Initiatives/Project Management Unit. This position provides business and resource support to various initiatives that are linked to our missions of education, research, and clinical care. These can span any of the mission areas of the SOM from administrative and finance processes, to teaching and education. The Business & Project Analyst receives general direction from the Business Initiatives Lead position and is responsible for identifying and evaluating business process and system opportunities, planning and implementing solutions, change management, tracking and measuring success for short- and long-term organizational and/or business initiatives. In addition, the incumbent will serve as business analyst with responsibility and coordination of the Faculty Recruitment Planning portfolio which includes responsibility for the Expenditure Commitments Committee (ECC), a high-profile weekly Faculty and Advanced Practice Provider recruitment oversight committee comprised of senior leaders from offices of VCHS, SOM Dean, and Health System. The position will serve as a resource to departments in implementation of various processes, systems, and initiatives, partnering with senior leaders to design process, projects, and changes that meet the needs of the unit to deliver value. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where an analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contacts are both internal and external to the department. Is proficient in identification and resolution of moderate to complex organizational issues. Works on strategic organizational consulting issues that are diverse in scope, where analysis of situations requires evaluation of various factors. Normally receives little instruction on planning, researching, and resolving organizational effectiveness issues, with general instructions and guidance provided on new assignments and / or more unique situations including strategic planning. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $88,000 - $161,600 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $42.15 - $77.39 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). |
