DESCRIPTION

Conducts in-depth analytical studies and projects of moderate scope and complexity, addressing a range of policy, research, and procedural issues by fully analyzing issues and problems, gathering and evaluating data and information, identifying and assessing alternatives, and developing sound recommendations that inform policy and program planning, development, administration, management, and implementation, while exercising judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action and providing consultative services to department administrators and other stakeholders.

Support the day-to-day academic and administrative operations for the 21st Century India Center (21CIC), serving as primary program manager for key education and research initiatives, supporting center marketing and communications efforts, planning and implementing conferences and meetings, collaborating with the leadership team to translate the center's vision into a successful operational plan, coordinating resources, goals, and timelines, working closely with representatives from other UC and GPS offices to implement programming, and implementing strategies to support advocacy, cultivation, and advancement of the center's interests and educational and research programs. Other duties as assigned within scope of description.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Working knowledge of common organization- or research-specific and other computer application programs. Examples include Microsoft Office Suite or R.

  • Culturally proficient in communication and interpersonal skills in both U.S. and India related contexts.

  • Proficient in communication and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

  • Proficient in ability to use discretion and maintain all confidentiality.

  • Demonstrates ability to use sound judgment in responding to issues and concerns.

  • Demonstrates ability to analyze, research and synthesize large amounts of data with strong attention to detail.

  • Proficient in ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.

  • Working knowledge of applicable policy analysis techniques. Emphasizing topics related to the U.S.-India relationship.

  • Demonstrated experience in budget and resource management.

  • Demonstrated experience in social media management and content creation.

  • Experience working with high-profile individuals from public and private sectors.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results.

  • Must be able to conduct international travel as needed.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $60,300 - $103,900 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $28.88 - $49.76

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
