Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Department Administrator, Supervisor for the Student Affairs -Finance and Administration Central Business Office. This position reports to the Director of Student Affairs Human Resources, Division of Student Affairs -NB, within the Student Affairs centralized human resources function.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Handles office management, assisting with matters related to HR and Payroll of a highly sensitive and confidential nature, reviewing all activity and documentation for compliance with university and divisional policies and procedures, as well as collective bargaining agreements.
- Initiates ROCS requests for all vacancies and request classifications, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, troubleshooting salary and payroll discrepancies, preparation of reports and data, system training and support on various university systems including HCM, ROCS, Hourly Payroll, Division Absence Reporting System, Guardian I-9, Oracle Cloud, OSFP Portal, etc.
- Provides supervision to the central human resources administrative coordinator.
- Safeguards confidential and sensitive information at all times and in the absence of the Director of Student Affairs Human Resources.
- Provides guidance and direction to management and support staff in all administrative matters to include progressive discipline.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and two (2) years of relevant professional experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, and facilitation.

Immunization Requirements
Under Policy 100.3.1 Immunization Policy for Covered Individuals, if employment will commence during Flu Season, Rutgers University may require certain prospective employees to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption.
