Your Opportunity

This position will primarily be responsible for the day-to-day operations of International Transportation. This position requires a solid understanding of transportation fundamentals (International transportation is a plus), high proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to handle most regular issues independently. Accuracy, attention to detail and timeliness is critical in this position. This position involves teamwork and problem solving daily, also expected to continually review processes for improvement opportunities.

Core Responsibilities
  • Escalation point person for immediate transportation issues
  • Manage and benchmark lowest landed transportation costs utilizing Path to Market
  • Responsible for tracking international shipments weekly, including weekends
  • Manage equipment availability.
    • Including dwell time & rolled bookings
  • Coordinates loading appointments at cold storage facilities and monitors loading for a timely delivery
  • Manage operational capacity at all cold storages
    • Operational coverage at highest achievable percentage
    • Systematic capacity correct
  • Ensures all accessorial charges are valid and approved timely
  • Provides operational support and brings closure to all active claims
  • Collaborate across to roll out best practices
  • Supervisor role for International Freight Planners

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required
  • 2+ years' experience in team development/management.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial and business principles
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • High standards of accuracy
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High level of written and oral communication skills, self-motivation, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability
  • Previous SAP experience a plus
  • Strong planning, organization, and execution skills
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
