Job Description
Primary Purpose The Senior Manager is responsible for originating/evaluating strategic fit and economic viability for all midstream opportunities related to the development of Midstream facilities required to support LNG, Industrial, and Low Carbon Solutions projects. The project facilities and/or agreements typically represent investments ranging from $300K to $2 billion in value and may involve all aspects of midstream infrastructure including pipelines, compressor/pump stations, meter stations, and storage facilities. Responsibilities will include developing, maintaining and enhancing customer relationships; monitoring and communicating fundamental market developments and applicable regulatory requirements; performing regional market analysis, identifying opportunities and developing concepts for infrastructure and service solutions; managing and coordinating inputs from support departments, test marketing and advancing concepts to projects up to the stage gate process; marketing and optimization of Midstream assets once in-service; lead negotiations of project and service agreements; and represents the company in customer meetings and various industry forums.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs Midstream Market Structuring and Analysis Activities
- Understands and conducts analysis of market structure, regulatory framework, and customer requirements in targeted regions and jurisdictions.
- Conducts market and pricing analysis of targeted regions.
- Understands and communicates pricing fundamentals and market dynamics.
- Acts as Project Manager coordinating and managing both internal groups and external resources such as legal, execution risk, credit, regulatory, gas operations, permitting, commodity strategies, engineering, cost estimating and pricing while respecting budgets and schedule.
- Directs all Midstream Marketing, Origination, and Optimization Activities
- Maintains relationships with existing and prospective wholesale counterparties, LNG and major petro-chemical projects, pipelines, producers, supply aggregators and marketers, independent power generators, investor-owned and municipal utilities, cooperatives, merchant energy companies, marketers, and energy service providers.
- Originates large-scale infrastructure and service solutions, conducts test marketing, advances concepts to projects and takes lead negotiating agreements while respecting the company's operational risk profile and strategic plans.
- Develops unsolicited proposals and prepares responses to Requests for Proposals by managing inputs from support departments such as development, E&C, permitting, regulatory, operations and legal and develops pricing value differentiating strategies for various products.
- Creates value through marketing and optimization of Midstream assets throughout operations, consistent with company's strategic objectives and risk tolerance.
- Midstream Planning and Strategy Activities
- Supports Midstream leadership in the development and execution of a strategy for acquiring/building and optimizing a midstream platform.
- Pursues and manages new business development opportunities.
- Develops and implements value added services.
- Promotes and supports, as needed, the company objectives in various industry forums addressing midstream infrastructure and related services as well as market design and reliability.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business or finance.
- 10+ Experience in wholesale natural gas and midstream infrastructure development with a broad background in gas supply, scheduling, transportation, storage, regulatory matters, finance and trading and pricing or equivalent training and/or experience.
- 10+ years' experience working within a cross-functional, matrix organization including technical, permitting, commercial, operations, finance, accounting, tax, insurance, external relations, and related functions.
- Knowledge of crude oil and liquids transportation, processing and storage is also valuable. Intermediate

- Ability to understand contractual terms and conditions, risks and related topics within the project scope and contracts/documents including Precedent Agreements, Pipeline Transportation, Engineering Contracts, Procurement Contracts, Construction Contracts, Import/Export Authorizations, Permits, Financing Agreements, Joint Venture Agreements, Risk Assessments, and related subjects. Preferred Qualifications
- Master's Degree in engineering, business or finance.
- 5+ Experience in commercial, development, scheduling, engineering, operations, asset management, and/or project development related roles.
- 5+ Commercial and/or project development experience in the LNG and/or natural gas sector with a concentration in major project development.
Work Schedule
HYBRID: Work a combination of onsite and remote days each week, typically 4 days per week onsite.
