 Job Summary Midland Asphalt Materials Inc. a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers' needs. We are currently looking for a Mechanic for our Tonawanda, NY facility. This position performs fleet maintenance duties by maintaining and repairing vehicles and equipment. This includes a full range of repairs and maintenance: electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel engine. The pay range for this position is $25-$30 per hour.Main Responsibilities 
    Road tests, inspects and troubleshoots heavy duty trucks and equipment to assess condition and diagnose repairsTunes, repairs and performs limited overhaul of diesel enginesFabricates special parts and up fits new equipmentAdjusts, repairs, replaces and/or rebuilds carburetors and fuel injection systemsInstalls, troubleshoots, adjusts, replaces, repairs, and rewires electrical systems and components, such as ignitions, signals, lights, and electrical controls, including computer controlled componentsRepairs and rebuilds hydraulic and pneumatic apparatusAdjusts, disassembles, and repairs or rebuilds drum and disc braking systems, valves, master cylinders, and pneumatic or other hydraulic controlsRepairs and replaces suspension and steering componentsAdjusts and/or repairs automatic and manual transmissions, differentials, power-take-off drives, clutches, and related drive train componentsUses welding and cutting equipment to make repairs or modify equipmentAssists other technicians with jobs requiring more than one personOrders materials and supplies required for maintenance and repair workKeeps records of work performed, time and materials used by jobPerforms on-site field repairs to stationary or disabled equipmentAdditional duties as assigned by lead mechanicQualifications and Physical Requirements 
    Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving recordMust have a valid medcal certificate or be able to obtain one1-2 years' experience or degree in Heavy Equipment, Truck and Diesel Technology in lieu of experience is preferredMust be able to lift up to 75lbsFrequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlStanding/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrainFrequent exposure to loud noiseRegularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particlesRegularly exposed to extended periods of physical activity in extreme heatRegularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicalsRequired to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, and overnight travel may be requiredCulture At Midland
