This is a/an 83.3% full-time equivalency (FTE) job with months off. The number of months off will be determined by the position's FTE percentage. The timing of months off will be set to meet the needs of the unit and the essential duties of the position. Questions related to HR105 FTE positions should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process. This position is eligible for benefits associated with any full-time position. The salary grade and range listed in the posting is reflective of a 100% Full-time position. Full-time equivalency job offers may fall outside of the listed range due to the assigned percentage of effort.

POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Behrend is seeking a Mental Health Counselor to join our on-site campus Counseling Center. This full-time position provides comprehensive mental health services to students, including assessment, individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and outreach initiatives that support student wellness and success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing individual and group counseling in accordance with individualized treatment plans

  • Conducting triage, intake, and crisis intervention appointments as needed

  • Delivering case management and referral services to on- and off-campus resources

  • Utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches to meet client needs

  • Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team through case consultation and coordination

  • Developing and implementing outreach programs focused on mental health and wellness

  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with professional standards

  • Participating in ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure and engage in community and campus outreach

  • May provide clinical supervision to non-licensed trainees

MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

Master's Degree 6+ years of relevant experience Required Certifications: Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

SALARY & BENEFITS

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $61,800.00 - $89,600.00.
