Overview:

Sentara Obici Hospital is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Resource Pool team on the Part-Time Night Shift. This flexible and rewarding role is ideal for an experienced nurse who enjoys variety, professional growth, and being part of a supportive, mission-driven healthcare team.

As a Resource Pool RN, you'll have the opportunity to provide expert nursing care across multiple departments, building diverse clinical experience while making a difference in the lives of patients throughout the hospital. You'll deliver safe, high-quality, and compassionate care guided by Sentara's standards of practice and professional performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide competent, patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.

  • Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and adaptability in a variety of units and patient populations.

  • Participate in health teaching, patient education, and care planning.

  • Promote ethical, evidence-based, and culturally congruent nursing practice.

  • Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive team environment.

Qualifications:

  • BSN or MSN preferred.

  • Valid RN license in the state of Virginia (or compact state).

  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.

  • Specialty certifications/training as applicable by clinical area:

    • Critical Care/IMCU: ACLS within 1 year of hire.

    • Emergency Care: ACLS & PALS (or ENPC) within 1 year of hire.

    • Oncology Care: ONS/ONCC or Sentara-approved Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire.

    • Women's Care/Perinatal: NRP within 6 months of hire.

    • Inpatient Pediatrics: PALS within 6 months of hire.
