Job Title: IT Support/Hardware Configuration Technician (In-Person)

Location: Paulsboro, NJ 08066 (Onsite)

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Pay Range: $19/hr. - $20/hr.

1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 2:30 PM EST

2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM EST or 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM EST

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Hardware Configuration Technician to join our team in Paulsboro, NJ. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level professional with up to 3 years of experience to play a key role in configuring and deploying essential IT equipment.

Responsibilities

The primary day-to-day responsibilities will focus on the setup and configuration of computer hardware. Key tasks include:

• Configuration & Installation: Unpacking, configuring, and installing CPUs, hardware, and software on tablets, laptops, and desktop computers according to default or custom specifications.
• System Deployment: Performing device imaging and application installation as required.
• Testing & Troubleshooting: Thoroughly testing configured systems for proper functioning and troubleshooting any errors or malfunctioning units using efficient problem-solving techniques.
• Documentation: Completing all required installation documentation, including quality assurance sheets, to ensure accurate processing and billing.
• Compliance: Following customer PC system hardware and software specifications based on configuration instructions (on-line instructions, config. sheets).
• Research & Support: Researching hardware and software literature and working with Lead Technicians on complex problems or configurations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Entry level to 3 years of overall experience in IT support or hardware configuration.
• Technical Knowledge: A strong working knowledge of operating systems is essential.
• Location: Must reside within a commutable distance of the work location.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods during device setup and configuration tasks, and must be able to lift and move equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.
• Education/Certifications: No specific certifications or advanced education are required.

Note: Overtime (OT) may be included at some point, with advance notice provided. There is no on-call (OC) requirement for this position.
