The Product Experience Design & Digital (PxD+D) team serves as the Innovation arm of the Visa Consulting and Analytics group (VCA). PxD+D solves complex business problems through a human-centered lens, architecting powerful insights that drive the user experiences of our vast cross-section of consulting clients.

Job Description:

The Mixed Methods Researcher will help Visa's network of clients accelerate their innovation agenda and transform their customer experience by uncovering customer attitudes, behaviors, and needs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on deriving insights from data and translating these into meaningful stories and business outcomes. The individual will be responsible for executing research projects to understand consumer behavior, needs and preferences, driving strategic-decision making and business outcomes for our clients.

Essential Functions

  • Design and lead mixed methods research studies to understand user behavior, attitudes, and needs, utilizing a variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods

  • Execute all phases of research (scoping, recruiting, research strategy, conducting, synthesizing, and reporting)

  • Synthesize complex findings into compelling stories and artifacts, making it easy for clients to act on data-driven recommendations

  • Manage vendor partners, as needed, overseeing rigor and quality of work products

  • Articulate the benefit of different research methods in addressing client asks to both internal partners and clients

  • Establish best practice research tools, templates, processes, and methods to elevate the research practice

  • Facilitate design thinking workshops with clients and stakeholders

  • A mindset that embraces creativity, optimism, ambiguity, and failing-fast

  • Proven ability to work on complex and often ambiguous problems, to drive results

  • Analytical thinker, team-oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities

  • Client-first mentality and demonstrate maturity when interacting with clients

  • Excellent project management skills, organization, and ability to manage multiple workstreams at the same time

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • 7+ years in market research or insights
  • Proven experience in designing, scoping, and executing consumer insights/market research/quantitative research studies, such as surveys, choice-based modeling, concept testing, and segmentation and personas development

  • Payments experience a plus

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, consulting environment, moving from project to project

  • Top-notch client management/people skills, with experience managing multiple stakeholder relationships

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, customer service, and interpersonal skills

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 143,700 to 245,400 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
