DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In the capacity of a Professional Engineer, you will engage in a variety of responsibilities that necessitate a blend of engineering, operational, and regulatory knowledge. This role is essential for overseeing utility systems and tackling environmental challenges within the department. Although direct supervisory duties may not be part of your role, you might need to step in during exceptional circumstances to uphold safety and security standards. Furthermore, your contributions are critical to the department's Continuity of Government Relocation Team, which ensures the preservation of vital functions during emergencies. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 2 days per week, upon successful completion of the 6 month training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Mechanicsburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. - Employees with the required certification or license may be eligible to receive a lump sum payment at the time of hire and each time the certification or license is renewed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years as an Environmental Engineer or an Air Quality Engineer; or
- Five years of professional engineering experience in environmental protection or in environmental project development, design and/or construction.
Special Requirement:
- You must be in possession of a valid Professional Engineer license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
Other Requirements:
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
