The National Sales Director (NSD) is responsible for providing leadership to a pharmaceutical biologics sales team spanning the entire United States. The sales team will be responsible for compliantly promoting the HEMA Biologics product portfolio to targeted customers with the goal of achieving sales growth and maintaining current business in respective regions. The NSD is responsible for the overall execution and performance of the national sales team and will provide coaching to ensure the team meets or exceeds expected results as driven by the corporate sales strategy. The NSD will serve as a key information source regarding all competitive product(s), market access and formulary statuses, and market dynamics for the nation. Leadership, motivation, and field training will also be key attributes for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruit, hire, develop, motivate, train, and retain a highly competitive sales team
  • Directly lead and manage a field-based team of HEMA Biologics sales representatives. deployed over multi-state, geographic sales territories across the United States
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop a National Operations Plan, programs, and processes that will create and develop business and sales growth opportunities.
  • Create and manage budgets for the sales team; Oversee field expenses and create procedures to ensure that budget is managed appropriately for the business
  • Analyze data to anticipate market trends and identify future opportunities
  • Develop and coach others to accelerate performance in role; Provide timely and constructive feedback; Reinforce, recognize, and reward positive development; Actively address performance issues
  • Partner with HEMA Biologics sales representatives to share ownership of key account relationships.
  • Work with HEMA Biologics sales representatives to establish reasonable and attainable territory goals, ensuring that these goals are accomplished with ethical, legal, and budgetary boundaries that fit with promotional priorities aligned to corporate direction
  • Frequently communicate summarized sales activities to management, including current and planned field activities to accomplish strategic goals and results
  • Effectively communicate up-to-date information related to priorities and business plans
  • Communicate with optimism, enthusiasm and sincerity while conveying a sense of urgency in a way that motivates others to excel
  • Maintain expert level of knowledge pertaining to professional, technical, payer, and industry developments that are essential to the selling of the Company's products versus the competition
  • Promote the importance of work simplification and elimination of non-value-added work
  • Compliance with all sales and marketing policies, corporate policies, state and federal laws.
  • Conduct individual and corporate responsibilities with a high level of integrity, professionalism and ethics

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (required)

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven success leading sales teams in the pharmaceutical/medical industry as a District Manager, Regional Sales Director, or National Sales Director
  • Experience in hematology and/or oncology strongly preferred
  • Previous hospital sales leadership experience preferred
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives in competitive markets
  • Prior field sales leadership experience in launching a biologic product/specialty drug

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners including Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Trade, and Finance Teams
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) for developing presentations, reports, and strategic documents Deep understanding of Specialty Pharmacies, Specialty Distributors, Payers, and pricing dynamics within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and strategic planning skills
  • Ability to translate complex medical or scientific information into key sales and marketing messages
  • Proven ability to display sales leadership at a national level, including career development and performance management (when necessary)
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, hire, coach, and develop direct reports to succeed
  • Results-oriented with a strong sense of accountability
  • Strategic thinker who can balance short-term objectives with long-term growth
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
