Job Description

SUMMARY

The co-op student will work on projects and will have responsibilities to supplement their knowledge and experience in the Human Resources field. The projects and assignments will become increasingly challenging with each subsequent rotation. Our goal is to provide an effective learning experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:

  • Recruit qualified candidates for all hourly and non-exempt salaried positions to meet plant production requirements. Maintain tracking and reporting system.
  • Build and maintain all hourly and non-exempt salaried employee files. Communicate with payroll, training and divisional headquarters as required.
  • Keeping ADP and Workday up to date and accurate in addition to maintaining employee timecards and badge systems.
  • Manage company relationships with temporary recruiting firms and Ohio Bureau of Employment Services consistent with organizational goals and ethical practices.
  • Utilizing best recruiting practices, influencing a reduction in plant turnover and overall recruiting costs.
  • Assist with administering hourly and salary benefit programs including orientation & onboarding, registration, records keeping, communication and problem troubleshooting.
  • Assist with planning and execution of on and off site employee engagement events.
  • Maintain positive employee relations by regularly interacting with shop floor personnel, co-workers, and management.
  • Perform other duties as are designated by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of human resources discipline
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Good writing skills and interpersonal skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full-time student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management
  • Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher
