This position is located onsite in Tucson, Arizona. The School of Geography, Development, and Environment within the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences invites you to apply to the position of Sprouts House Coordinator (Community Outreach Professional II). The Sprouts House Coordinator's main responsibilities will be building, maintaining, and activating the Sprouts House instructional site and all programming associated. This position will play a critical role in strengthening the school garden engagement pipeline at Mansfeld Middle School and bridging the gap from Pre-K, Elementary, High School and Higher Education. The position will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities in contributing towards the program's objectives and fostering positive change within the participating communities. The Sprouts House Coordinator should embrace a growth mindset and have the ability to support team members across domains and settings.       | Duties & Responsibilities | Sprouts House Coordination: 
        Execute daily garden maintenance and diagnoses.Manage garden and greenhouse growing calendar to maximize harvest output, benefiting Mansfeld and other school gardens within TUSD .Calendaring use of space for public programs and internal programmatic use.Coordinate Sprouts House (SH) outdoor and indoor classroom usage with Mansfeld teachers and staff.Coordinate Sprouts House (SH) Food Lab field trips, SH produce sow/harvest, and Mansfeld cafeteria tastings with support from TUSD Food Literacy Program Coordinators. Community Engagement: 
        Assets forward approach to relationship building and stewardship (including Mansfeld and the greater surrounding community).Coordinate community work days and other outreach events at Sprouts House site.Identify opportunities to collaborate with Mansfeld and greater surrounding community that have the ability to enrich the Sprouts House site and vice versa. Mentorship: 
        Provide mentorship and guidance to University of Arizona interns, Dietetic interns, FLP staff, and PK-12 students involved in the program.Foster a supportive and educational environment that promotes skill development and personal growth. SGW Program Support: 
        Collaborate with other program leadership team members to develop and carry-forward initiatives that align with the overall objectives of the School Garden Workshop and Sprouts House.Contribute to decision-making processes and provide input on programmatic improvements and expansion.Assist in organizing and delivering SGW program events, workshops, and educational sessions.Collaborate on adult education for PK-12 teachers and staff and university interns. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  
        Knowledge of gardening and construction tools and techniques.Skilled in gardening and construction practices.Skilled in coordinating and implementing building projects, including plumbing, irrigation, earth moving, and garden installations.Ability to coordinate and manage multiple programs simultaneously.Ability to work confidently and effectively in outdoor environments.Demonstrated experience in mentorship and leadership roles within educational or community-based programs.Proficiency in coordinating and implementing educational programs or similar initiatives.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and team members.Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Physical Requirements:  
        Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in an outdoor environment. Ability to work in extreme cold and extreme heat.

        Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Ability to travel up to 5%.  |

        Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as environmental sustainability, food justice, education, or community development. Bilingual Spanish proficiency. Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
