FTE: 1.0, Shift: Days, Schedule: 8 hour shift

Position Summary

The Legal Coordinator coordinates court activities for involuntary psychiatric patients. He/she completes internal documentation and coordinates information systems. He/she coordinates clinical care coordinator and psychologist rounds. He/she is responsible for all legal paperwork, maintaining a legal board, and charting all legal information. He/she will maintain computer documents and files as appropriate. He/she communicates pertinent information regarding patient legal status to treatment staff and advises of appropriate action. He/she keeps accurate records and logs as required and generates statistics as requested.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of general office work to include:
  • computer skills, knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet programs, filing systems, telephone reception, typing skills, etc.
  • The ability to interact over the phone professionally with a diverse group of people.
  • Must work well under pressure/stress.
  • Must be very detail oriented and have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Must be able to handle many different tasks and work well within an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Must be able to professionally represent agency to the community.
  • Must interact with patients with tact, sensitivity and respect.

Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science degree as a legal assistant or legal assistant course work (or equivalent) preferred

  • Five years office experience with excellent computer skills a must.

  • Preference for office experience within a legal or social services setting

  • Legal Assistance training a plus

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $29.68 - $43.24 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
