Job Description:
 The School District of Milton is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Intellectual Disabilities (4K-3) Teacher at West Elementary School for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year. This position supports students with a range of abilities and disabilities who primarily access the Essential Elements or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards. We provide a competitive starting salary of $50,600 for a 190-day contract, available to candidates with a Bachelor's degree. Additional compensation is available for those with prior public education teaching experience and further education beyond a bachelor's degree. Qualifications: The School District of Milton is seeking dedicated and collaborative educators who are passionate about engaging students in the learning process. The ideal candidate will be organized, flexible, and an effective communicator, with the ability to coordinate services for students with disabilities across a continuum of service models. Successful candidates will demonstrate knowledge and skills in assessing emotional, behavioral, and learning disabilities; applying effective instructional techniques and positive behavioral interventions; and implementing best practices to support students with a wide range of abilities and needs. They will also work collaboratively with colleagues, contribute positively to the school and district community, and assume a leadership role in the implementation of district initiatives and special education service delivery. Proficiency in co-planning with general education teachers is essential. Applicants must hold or be eligible for WI DPI Certification in special education. Applicants with a WI DPI Certification in Intellectual Disabilities - 1810 and/or Cross-Categorical Special Education - 1801 and have the appropriate position code for 4K through 3rd grade students are preferred.
