The Role:

As AMD grows, we are adding outstanding technical leadership to help lead the team to explore, model and study performance architecture features for our award-winning server SoCs. As a passionate and dedicated Business development manager in our division, this is an opportunity to work with performance architects from CPU Cores, Memory, and IO Subsystem, SOC and system architects. Work with strategic partners to understand the market requirements and guide evaluation and exploration to expand market reach. You will have the opportunity to apply your experience and expertise to identify AMD's business and technology opportunities and drive them into action, influence products and target revenue growth. This technical business development role is all about maintaining AMD's technological leadership position!

The Person:

This role requires a multi-disciplinary skillset, a growth mentality, and a results-oriented bias for action. You will work with hardware and software engineering and architects, marketing, sales, finance, corporate strategy, legal, and others to grow and strengthen AMD's server business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner capabilities identification strategically, technological, and business, operational fit
  • Proven experience with partner engagement model definition: co-engineering, invest, hire, contract - determination of efficient relationship
  • Understanding of reusability, scalability of partners - redundancies of capabilities, availability
  • Experience and knowledge with ecosystem identification in areas of ISV, IHV, OEMs, ODMs, Sys Int, Foundry, and end customer
  • Must be able to identify workloads such as heterogeneity, specialized software, and applicability to strategy
  • Identify requirements for next generation silicon and any struggles, performance demands, and be TCO aligned
  • Build Case's which includes identification capabilities, customer targets, PoC definition, event demos, GTM schedule, and volumes/ASPs' estimates
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in one or more cloud and communications centric technologies: storage, networking, security, media, Edge, MEC, IoT
  • Strong understanding of cloud service providers, communications service providers, NEMs, global OEMs, and/or SIs, as a customer and/or partner
  • Track record for establishing successful relationships with partners and customers.
  • Ability to influence multiple partners without direct authority
  • Ability to work with cross range of teams including engineering, legal, finance, sales, and operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communications with technical and non-technical partners
  • Prior experience working with Corporate Strategic/Investment Groups to realize BU business objectives
  • 25% travel - both domestic and international to partners, customers, AMD internal teams and industry events
  • Proven years prior strategy and/or consulting experience in conjunction with related industry experience.
Academic Credentials:
  • Bachelor's degree in EE/CS; MBA desirable
