Join us as our new Production Supervisor in Packaging
This position works under general direction and is responsible for managing the production process and employees on assigned shift to maximize production results and meet Customer demand. This is a hands-on position that is heavily engaged in day-to-day production activities. This position works 3rd Shift hours (10:30pm-7am), Sunday-Thursday.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

  • Providing leadership necessary to achieve production goals by driving safety culture.
  • Scheduling and assigning personnel and establishing priorities, communicating job expectations, and planning, monitoring, and evaluating job performance. Providing coaching follow-up for performance regarding development, safety, quality and productivity.
  • Mentoring employees and directing work assignments through effective communication and cultivating a positive work environment.
  • Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures, as well as promoting and implementing company and/or department initiatives and/or directives provided.
  • Creating the basis for continuous improvement and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized processes are followed, countermeasures implemented, and the area is compliant with safety requirements.
  • Ensuring effective employee relations. Resolving employee issues through problem resolution. Promoting, rewarding, and maintaining communication, teamwork, flexibility, cooperation, and customer focus within and between departments. Creating a culture of engagement by driving Engagement Matters actions and engaging employees daily.
  • Conducting shift/department meetings regarding communications, department and plant concerns, and policy interpretation.
  • Maintaining staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training and developing personal growth opportunities for employees.
  • Fostering an environment conducive to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing by utilizing 5S and other tools.
  • Trains, supports, and enforces GMP, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines and requirements.
  • Provides day-to-day production support by monitoring supply inventory levels, completing required paperwork, monitoring customer complaints and participating in audits.
  • Continually reviews, recommends and implements programs to comply with all State, Federal and local safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Adheres to guidelines as set forth by religious dietary law certifications (Kosher and Halal).

To succeed you must hold:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English.
  • Ability to effectively and succinctly communicate in oral and written form to all levels (operator to executive) of the organization as well as outside contractors.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to make administrative, procedural or employment-related decisions in a dynamic environment.
  • Possess working knowledge of continuous improvement principles and their application.
  • Possess a working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs.
  • May require domestic and/or international travel up to 10%.
  • These characteristics are normally acquired through a Bachelors degree in a business or science discipline, and one to three years of supervisory experience.

Working Conditions
Working environment is generally favorable. Lighting, temperature and noise levels are adequate with occasional exposure to cold temperatures. Frequent entry into the production facility requires personal protective equipment to be worn at all times. This includes a lab coat, hair/beard net, safety glasses, and gloves. Employees must comply with the safety and hygiene requirements for production and warehouse areas, following applicable federal, state and local laws as well as facility good manufacturing practices (GMPs). These requirements include, among other things; no jewelry, false fingernails, nail polish, false eyelashes, heavy perfume/cologne, bobby pins or small hair clips while in production and warehouse areas; adherence to personal hygiene and other health requirements; limitations on food and beverages in production and warehouse areas; and limitations on cell phone usage while in the facility.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, keyboard and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. This role is performed in a laboratory/manufacturing environment where exposure to materials containing allergens, such as milk and dairy, may occur. Individuals with sensitivities or allergies to these substances should consider this when applying. Appropriate safety measures and protective equipment are provided to minimize exposure risks.
