ASRaymond has an exciting and challenging career opportunity for an Inventory Control Specialist in our Maumee location. Are you detailed oriented, self-motivated and looking to make a difference? This job is for you. The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for ensuring inventory is properly stored and that accurate control is maintained to meet our customer demands. This position is also responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement efforts that drive operational efficiencies.

Core Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for maintaining inventory control of the Distribution and Assembly parts and initiating continuous improvement efforts centered on warehouse efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Assists in educating and training the inventory team on procedural changes and inventory best practices.
  • Review inventory discrepancies and take necessary action to ensure accuracy, determining root cause and corrective action of discrepancies.
  • Organize and move products to appropriate stocking locations.
  • Discuss organizational and development of optimal storage plans with Inventory Control Supervisor for existing stock.
  • Work alongside the Inventory Control Supervisor in creating and implementing new programs, utilizing reports to identify improved stock locations, and moving products within the warehouse as directed. Assist in notifying the warehouse team of all changes.
  • Maintain relevant metrics and key performance indicators in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through lot control and process improvements.
  • Alongside the Inventory Control Supervisor share responsibility for the cycle count program and sustainability.
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment; perform all duties in a safe manner, including operating all warehouse equipment and material handling devices safely.
  • Responsible for timely handling of returned goods, customer issues and re-stocking of orders and receipts from suppliers as directed by the Inventory Control Supervisor.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • 3-5 years of inventory experience in a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of ISO/TS 16949 / IATF 16949 Standards and Requirements.
  • Experience with standard scales and weigh counting.
  • Experience operating a forklift.
  • Knowledge of or experience with continuous improvement and/or Lean Manufacturing preferred.
  • Knowledge of or experience with 6S, inventory control systems, Kan Ban systems and ISO/TS16949/IATF 16949 a plus.


  • Strong PC aptitude in a Windows environment required; specifically, M3 and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Power Point). Ability to learn other software packages as needed.


  • Effectively communicate in both verbal and written format.


  • Ability to relate across departments and with other members of staff within working environment.


  • Ability to multitask and manage time well.
  • Reliable, organized, detail-oriented and focused.


Education & Experience:



  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
