Japanese Bilingual Accounting Associate
Location: New York, NY
Employment Type: Full Time, Non-Exempt
Work Schedules: 9 AM - 5 PM, Mondays - Fridays, with possible overtime after 5 PM on weekdays. (on-site)


Summary
Highly organized Accounting Associate with Japanese Bilingual skills needed for a global services firm in NYC. This role manages the full accounting cycle, ensuring financial accuracy. Responsibilities include high-volume AP/AR processing, complex month-end accruals, GL reconciliation, and owner statement preparation. Requires 2-3 years of general accounting experience and advanced Excel skills.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Accurately process and record all submitted accounts payable vouchers for general operating costs, maintenance, and other expenses.
* Review Accounts Receivable aging reports and execute timely posting of cash receipts, manage delinquency records, and apply prepaid funds correctly.
* Execute precise calculation and entry of all monthly contractual accruals (including charges, deposits, taxes, and utilities) critical for meeting period-end reporting requirements.
* Monitor cash position and execute the proper reversal of necessary accrual entries at the start of the next accounting period.
* Partner effectively with various internal accounting groups to streamline the processing of shared or inter-divisional financial transactions.
* Compile detailed cash flow statements for owner review, ensuring data consistency between the master General Ledger and associated client accounting systems.
* Maintain professional flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes in job functions, responsibilities, and activities as needed by management.


Qualifications
* A minimum of 2-3 years of general accounting experience is required.
* Strong proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel skills, and various accounting software systems.
* Demonstrated multi-tasking skills and the ability to effectively manage accounting work for a large volume.
* Excellent teamwork skills to collaborate effectively across the organization.
* Exceptional communication skills
* A Bachelor's degree in Accounting is strongly preferred.
* Working experience within a service or portfolio management environment is preferred.
* Proficiency in business-level Japanese and English (speaking, reading, and writing).

The base pay range above represents the low and high end of the base compensation range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Actual base compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, actual experience, and job performance.
