Description

TRISTAR is seeking a skilled Engineering Technician III to join our team and provide professional technical support for the AN/SPS-67V3 radar system. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in electrical, electronic, or mechanical components and will be responsible for various tasks related to radar system maintenance and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for the complete teardown and overhaul of the pedestal and sub-assemblies (worm shaft, output shaft, input shaft, data cartridge, data take off, data gearbox, oil pump, ac motor, flex coupler, and rotary couplers.
  • Radar system maintenance, repair, overhauls, fabrication of cable harnesses, parts inventory management and complete system testing using approved procedures.
  • Work with other technicians in testing and repair of AN/SPQ-9B and AN/SPS-48 radar system and other radar systems as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with Task Lead, Branch Manager, ISEA and US Navy fleet.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to the ISEA and US Navy. Must maintain parts inventory in accordance with OM&S regulations.

Requirements
  • Proficiency in electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems.
  • Experience with radar system maintenance and repair.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.

Education requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience
