Job Highlights
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
  • Observe all Company Safety Rules and Policies.
  • Maintain paperwork as necessary; work orders, inspections, P.M. sheets, etc
  • Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools;
  • Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts; using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains technical and safety knowledge by attending employer supplied educational workshops; monthly safety topics and participating in daily Tool Box discussions.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Lay out and complete assigned work independently.
  • Supervise other mechanics in the absence of supervisor
  • Weld carbon steel, stainless and aluminum pipe, on bench and in field.
  • Enter Confined Space and perform necessary repairs including use of welding skills.
  • Use Oxyacetylene Welding & Cutting.
  • Use and climb ladders (approx. 40 foot high).
  • Wear company supplied respirator per required tasks.
Experience and Skills
  • Education: A High School Diploma or equivalent is required at a minimum
  • Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a chemical or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience mentoring/leading other maintenance mechanics is a plus.
