Summary:

The Quality Coordinator for the Inpatient Rehab Unit is responsible for coordinating and implementing quality improvement initiatives to ensure the highest standards of patient care. This role involves monitoring clinical performance, analyzing data, and collaborating with healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes and compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Quality Improvement Initiatives:
    • Develop and implement quality improvement plans and strategies within the Inpatient Rehab Unit.
    • Monitor and evaluate patient care processes and outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
    • Facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss quality improvement initiatives and outcomes.
  • Leadership & Coordination:
    • Coordinate with nursing and therapy teams to ensure efficient and high-quality daily operations.
    • Provide leadership and guidance to staff to promote a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Data Management & Analysis:
    • Collect, analyze, and report data related to patient care quality and safety.
    • Use data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and accreditation standards.
    • Prepare and assist in regulatory audits and inspections.
    • Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to achieve and maintain CARF accreditation.
  • Education & Training:
    • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on quality improvement processes and best practices.
    • Mentor and support nursing staff in quality improvement activities and initiatives.
  • Communication & Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and external agencies to improve patient care quality.
    • Serve as a resource and advocate for quality improvement within the unit.

Other information:

Required Qualifications:

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Licensure:Current RN license in the state of North Carolina.
  • Experience:Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a quality improvement or similar role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficiency in data management and analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Quality Improvement or Patient Safety.
