SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking an Anesthesia Aide to join our Anesthesia department. This casual position does not have any quareenteed hours.

Purpose of this position: Maintain and organize the anesthesia environment, equipment, and supplies to facilitate department functions, including emergency equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Facilitates Anesthesia turn over
  • Performs cleanup of anesthesia equipment
  • Properly cares for equipment and takes action for preventative maintenance
  • Procures equipment
  • Transports specimens and blood products
  • Maintains inventory control
  • Orders and tracks supplies
  • Monitors arrivals of back orders
  • Returns incorrect or damaged orders
  • Restocks department with supplies
  • Makes rounds to keep inventory in stock
  • Daily calibration of POC equipment
  • Also helps anticipate requirements for emergency care:
    • Brings difficult airway equipment
    • Runs for MTP (massive transfusion protocol)
    • Provides support during trauma and emergencies - equipment, labs, etc

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:



  • No minimum experience is required


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prior experience performing anesthesia services


Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:



  • Knowledge of the machinery, equipment and supplies utilized to facilitate department
  • Can receive on-the-job training


License/Certifications:



  • Health Care Assistant certification, or equivalent
